[edit] Picasa configuration
Here is a list of configuration changes you should make in Picasa:
- In the View > Folder View menu, I have the following three options checked: Flat Folder View, Sort by Creation Date and Show Thumbnails in Library. You can change the sort option to whatever you prefer. Sorting by recent changes can also be helpful.
- Double click on a picture to go into the editor. In the bottom right corner, there is an icon of a hat with a propeller on it. Click it to enable a color histogram and basic photo info.
[edit] Flickr preparation
- Go to this settings page and make sure the box is checked to allow the coordinates from Google Earth to properly integrate into Flickr.
- (optional) This step is entirely off-topic for this tutorial, but I figured I should mention it anyway. You can go to this settings page and change the license for all of your photos to a Creative Commons license. This means that you will still get attribution for your work, but that others can use your work. You can specify if they are allowed to remix the photo or if it can be used for commercial things or not. Share your art! Who knows? Maybe someone will use one of your photos in their blog or their website, and wouldn't that just make you feel loved?
